Preserving apples is easy with this old fashioned apple butter canning recipe!

Add cored apple slices, apple cider, & ginger to a pot & bring to a boil

Reduce heat & boil, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft

Puree until smooth

Stir in maple syrup, spices, & salt and cook until mixture thickens

If canning, gather pint jars & the canning equipment you'll need

Prepare your jars in your water bath canner

Fill jars, top with a 2 part lid, & process in your canner

Enjoy your apple butter on toast or as a filling to pastries!
