If you’ve ever wanted an easy way to boost your health potential, this Maunka honey vinegar elixir is just for you! Made with pure raw Manuka honey, raw apple cider vinegar, fresh ginger, lemon juice, and propolis extract, this drink is a powerhouse of immune boosting benefits.
What is Manuka Honey?
Manuka honey is produced by bees that forage on the nectar of the Manuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium), which is native to Australia and New Zealand.
It is typically thicker in consistency, darker in color, and has a more earthy flavor than regular honey.
Manuka Honey Benefits
While most of us have heard about the benefits of honey, especially raw honey, Manuka honey has even more amazing benefits!
Manuka honey is most known for being a powerful antibacterial, which makes it a great choice for use on minor wounds. Use Manuka honey in a salve with propolis to help heal wounds faster.
Manuka honey also has antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, making it highly beneficial for the immune system.
Use Manuka honey to help boost the immune system during time of illness, soothe a sore throat or cough, or to ease digestion. It can also be taken daily as a preventative.
Honey should not be given to children under the age of one.
Pacific Resources International Manuka Honey
I want to share with you an awesome company I discovered that has all the Maunka honey you could ever need, along with some other really great products!
Pacific Resources International, also known as PRI, sells only genuine Manuka honey that is independently tested for potency and purity. They work directly with the bee keepers in New Zealand and Australia who harvest the honey for their products.
Along with many varieties of Manuka honey, PRI also sells organic raw honey (which is hard to find!) and other gourmet honeys, pacific sea salt, and wellness items like Manuka oil and propolis extract.
I love their Manuka honey because I know it’s high quality, sustainably sourced, tastes amazing, and is full of health benefits! I’m also a huge fan of their sea salt, which is full of natural minerals.
Manuka Honey Vinegar Elixir Recipe
This Manuka honey vinegar elixir drink is a great way to start your day! It’s easy to make and has a multitude of health benefits, primarily for the immune system and digestion.
Here is what is included in this recipe:
Manuka Honey – antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, good for digestion and highly beneficial for the immune system.
Raw Apple Cider Vinegar – beneficial for regulating blood sugar, easing digestive issues, and boosting the immune system.
Ginger – anti-inflammatory, warming immune system stimulant, and good for digestion.
Lemon Juice – aids digestion and provides vitamin C.
Propolis Extract – highly beneficial for the immune system.
How to Make Manuka Honey Vinegar Elixir
First, bring two cups of water with thinly sliced fresh ginger to a boil for about 10-15 minutes. Turn off the heat and let cool to almost room temperature. It can still be warm, but you don’t want it to be too hot or else it will kill off some of the benefits of the honey.
Put 1-2 tablespoons of Manuka honey into a large cup or mug.
Then add the vinegar, lemon juice, and propolis oil to the mug.
Once the ginger tea has sufficiently cooled, strain it into the mug and stir well to combine until the honey has dissolved.
Then drink and enjoy!
While some people may be turned off by the thought of vinegar in this drink, I highly recommend giving it a try. I find it to be pleasantly delicious and refreshing, and the Manuka honey adds a nice sweetness!
This elixir can be taken on a daily basis for illness prevention, or during times of illness for a speedier recovery. It is good to drink first thing in the morning, especially for its digestive benefits, but can also be taken at anytime during the day.
If you’d like to make a larger batch, you can double (or more) the recipe and store it in the refrigerator. Gently shake or swirl around to combine before drinking, and it should be consumed within 3-4 days.

I picked up some Manuka Honey at Trader Joe’s last winter & didn’t use it all up so I am glad I found your recipe. I am going to make this as I think it may help with my allergies that starting this fall already. I like honey and use a lot of it, & try to get from local farmers at the market.

Hi Collen! Thanks for sharing this! I look forward to putting it into my fall/winter rotation with herbal hot toddy! Question regarding the propolis extract — I know there are different strengths/extraction rations for propolis extract. Do you have one you prefer? Some are so strong, it gums up my teeth!
Herbal on!

Dear Friends,
When I was a child (born in 1945), my mother drank a small tea cup of warm honey and apple cider vinegar everyday. She said it was her mother’s “Gift of Life,” to keep her babies healthy.
Since it tasted like crap, as a youth I ignored her coaxing and refused to take it daily, although she forced it down me when I was ill.
Somewhere along the line I wised up and listened to my mother and have never been seriously ill, since!
Thanks Mom,
Orrin
